Ingredients

  • 550g chickpeas (canned, drained)

  • 100g red onion

  • 4 cloves garlic

  • 1/1 Tbsp coriander powder

  • 1/2 Tbsp gorund cumin

  • 1 Tbsp chili flakes

  • 1 Tbsp Pulbiber

  • 4 tsp salt (mixture has to be salty)

  • 1 hand full fresh coriander

  • 1 hand full fresh parsley

Method

  • Take all the ingridients and put them into a powerfull food processor.

  • Blend it all together until its a grainy paste.

  • Split the mixture into 8 equal sized portions. One should be around 70g.

  • After that, form patty shaped Falafel out of the mixture. Place them into the fridge to chill for 30 minutes. Use that time to prepare the salad. Preheat the oven to 200°C fan.

  • Bake the Falafel on a slightly oiled baking paper for 15 minutes. Then flip them around and bake for another 10 minutes.

  • Serve the Falafel with different dips and salads or put them in some Pita bread or Taco shells.

Good to know

For next time: Try to get the inside of the Falafel greener. Maybe blend the coriander and the parsley by itself and then add to the mixture. Find a good sauce, maybe a fatty heavy yoghurt sauce. Try to make actual flat breads. Check Khobez bread recipes. Pickle some parsnips and beetroot.
